Lyrics: This Little Life is in Our Hands

by Joy Saunders Lundberg

(Birth mother)
I know this child belongs to someone else, not me.
But I don’t know just who that someone else might be.
And even though I give the breath of life, I see
My child deserves a chance to have a family.

(Chorus - birth mother)
This little life is in my hands,
And through God’s tender grace
I know He’ll help me find my child
The perfect loving place,
Where parents’ arms reach out in love,
Where tears are kissed away,
Where joys beyond what I could give
Are given everyday.

(Case worker)
She made a loving choice to give her child a life,
And came to me to turn her darkness into light.
Now I must make the choice and find her child a home
With parents who will love her baby as their own.

(Chorus - case worker)
This little child is in my hands
And through God’s tender grace
I know He’ll help me find her child
The perfect loving place,
Where parents’ arms reach out in love,
Where tears are kissed away,
Where joys beyond what she could give
Are given every day.

(Adoptive mother)
For years we prayed to find a little one to love,
That someone led by God would give her child to us.
We waited for the call, and then there came the day,
Our little one was born and came to us to stay.

(Chorus - adoptive mother)
This little life is in our hands,
And through God’s tender grace
We know He’ll help us give this child
The perfect loving place,
Where parents’ arms reach out in love,
Where tears are kissed away,
Where joys that only we can give
Are given every day.

(Tag: sung by all)
We prayed for help, the answer came,
And now we understand,
This little child has always been
Safely in God’s hands.
